Hobbs Halogen Work Lamps are of sealed beam construction, totally sealed against dirt and moisture. Optimum shock and vibration resistance, with burner firmly secured to reflector for superior performance and reliability. Single component sealed beam eliminates damage due to careless handling and allows for easy replacement. Hobbs has manufactured more than 20 million incandescent and halogen lamps for use in some of the most rugged working environments imaginable. Because they're designed for use in farming equipment and heavy construction, they're also designed to take shock, vibration and other extreme service conditions in stride. Our time-proven halogen sealed beam lamps have earned the reputation of being one of the most reliable heavy duty lighting products made. |
The difference between composite and sealed beam construction A composite lamp is "composed" of removable components. The burner can be replaced for convenience and initial lower cost. However, because the burner is replacable it is normally designed with a twist base for easy removal. Such an istallation can be subject to failure when subjected to shock or vibration. Careless handling installing will result in early failure. After opening the lamp it becomes difficult to reseal, allowing moisture and dirt in, reducing light output and operating life. The sealed beam is totally sealed against moisture and dirt. The burner is securely attached to the reflector for optimum performance through shock and vibration, and with no disassembly, the possiblity of damage due to careless handling is virtually eliminated |
