Chemical Resistance: Polyethylene
will resist attack by inorganic acids, alkalis and aqueous solutions
and at room temperature is almost completely insoluble in all organic
solvents. Ultra Violet Exposure: Oxidation
is kept to a bare minimum by the addition of an antioxidant, which
provides added protection particularly against the effects of high
temperature exposure. Pool Chemicals: Dilute solutions
of chlorine, together with calcium hypochlorite, sodium hypochlorite
have little or no effect on polyethylene.
Water:
Polyethylene is very resistant to water and water vapour! It is,
in fact, one of the best water vapour barriers available. Polyethylene
has one of the lowest water absorption values of all commercial
